The Villages of Kaiaulu O' Waikoloa is a LEED-compliant affordable housing development designed to support low-income families on Hawaii’s Big Island. This ground-up construction project exemplifies a commitment to sustainability and community well-being.

In my role, I was responsible for sourcing environmentally responsible building materials and FF&E selections, ensuring every visual element—from playground structures to roof shingles—aligned with both functional and aesthetic goals. The property adheres to ADA compliance standards, with accessible units thoughtfully integrated into each building.

Key sustainability features include energy-efficient dark sky-compliant exterior lighting and Energy Star-certified appliances in all residences. The community center embodies a harmonious blend of local culture and environmental responsibility, furnished with sustainably sourced materials and adorned with custom artwork created by native Hawaiian artists.
